Logical Connectives

The binary logical connectives are as follows:

Logical OperationGrammatical Conjunction
conjunction (ᴀɴᴅ) ⟨sɪ⟩ — and
disjunction (ᴏʀ)zovzov ⟨zov⟩ — or
exclusive disjunction (xᴏʀ)draðdrað ⟨drað⟩ — exclusive or
material implication (ɪᴍᴘʟʏ)ŋazŋaz ⟨ŋaz⟩ — if; implies
material biconditional (xɴᴏʀ)juθjuθ ⟨juθ⟩ — if and only if

Note

Binary logical connectives are the only true grammatical conjunctions in Najan. Other semantic relationships between phrases or clauses are expressed using prepositional phrases.

There is one unary connective, txətxə ⟨txə⟩ — notnot, which indicates logical negation (ɴᴏᴛ).

The logical constants ᴛʀᴜᴇ and ꜰᴀʟꜱᴇ, which can be considered nullary logical connectives, are expressed using the verbs ⟨jʊ⟩ — yes; true and txəytxəy ⟨txəy⟩ — no; false, respectively.
